Product Overview
nCloud datahub is a centralized service that can store, manage, and control the flow of data of various clients, devices, and enterprises. Even though the nCloud datahub service is centralized, the underlying platform is geo-distributed and uses network coding technology for efficient storage and enhanced fault tolerance.
What is nCloud datahub?
nCloud datahub is a centralized service that enables enterprises and clients to store, manage, and control their data. As an integration point for multiple users, nCloud datahub enables clients to store their data in a cloud of clouds. Even though the nCloud datahub service is centralized, the underlying data centers are geo-distributed.
nCloud container deployment enables simultaneous multi-cloud data access. nCloud Proxy, our container APP connecting to the nCloud Datahub, can be downloaded from the marketplace or in the form of hardware for private cloud. Build and run scalable applications in modern, dynamic environments such as public, private, and hybrid clouds.

nCloud datahub enables interoperability between cloud platforms. The customers can choose the data centers of their own choice. In Hong Kong, an instance of nCloud datahub is mapped across three physically separated data centers in Cyberport, HKSTP, and HGC.
Benefits:
- Cloud-native: nCloud container deployment enables simultaneous multi-cloud data access. nCloud Proxy, our container APP connecting your data hub, can be downloaded from the marketplace.
- Data Sovereignty: With fully controlled storage localities and credentials, nCloud meets data sovereignty, privacy, and governance compliance subject to local laws and regulations.
- Geo-distributed: nCloud is mapped across three physically separated data centers in Cyberport, HKSTP, and HGC, like a RAID, protected Cloud.
- Security without Compromise: With nCloud Proxy, data is protected by a patented AONT mechanism where data can only be decrypted when enough votes are collected from multiple datacenters.
- Centralized Data Set: Fluidly migrate your data to platforms where the right AI/ML pipelines are available, without deploying complicated hybrid applications or paying a high egress fee.
Use cases:
nCloud datahub can be used for multiple scenarios. For example,
- When customers want to choose the datacenters for their data storage (data residency as a service)
- For applications requiring aggregated/centralized data for processing.
- As a gateway for sharing of data with multiple users
- For backup services
- For creating visibility to all the data
- For centralizing control and sharing
- As a file server
- For streamed based data
- For applications requiring fast access with low latency
- For applications requiring highly persistent and reliable storage (e.g., data storage required by government departments)
What technology is used?
nCloud datahub offered as a platform as a service is based on our infrastructure product nCloud. The key technology used by nCloud datahub is network coding.
Network Coding enables web-scale architecture that taps into enormous data in both multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments, i.e., nCloud accelerates data throughput in accessing distributed object storage by 70% with petabyte scalability. nCloud datahub demonstrates extraordinary performance gain as compared with existing virtual and bare metal storages.
Network coding provides a promising low-cost redundancy mechanism to achieve fault tolerance, while significantly reducing the storage overhead compared to traditional replication and achieving optimal repair performance with theoretical guarantees. It belongs to a special class of erasure coding. Erasure coding is increasingly adopted as a cost-efficient redundancy means to achieve availability and durability guarantees for global-scale data storage in the face of failures.
nCloud Datahub supports data access from applications via the S3 object interface. S3 is a de-facto standard used in AWS, Alibaba, Huawei, and other object storage providers like Cloudian.
